UEN is really good resource for teachers. It helps them create lesson plans, and use interactive tools to engage the students. In Pioneer Library, there are so many different browsers that you can use. Searchasaurus can be used for Elementary school students that puts the content you are trying to teach them on their level.
You can use CultureGrams to get recipes and other content about other countries. You can use this to bring other cultures to life in your classroom. When you have different students of different cultures and ethnicities then you can use this to teach the students about that culture. You can expose them to different languages and use it as a tool to teach students to be bilingual.
Another really useful tool in Pioneer Library is eMedia. I really like this tool because you can find educational videos that you can use in your class. In school, I have found that videos can engage students in the way that teachers cannot. Videos can show actual locations or footage of events (such as the footage of the Stock Market Crash of 1929).
The last tool I found extremely fascinating was in World Book, under Surfing the Ages. I am really in to English History, especially Henry VIII. So when I was Surfing the Ages, I found an area that talked about Elizabeth I, daughter of Henry VIII. It gave an “interview” with Elizabeth I in her 29th year of reign. I found it very fascinating and brought the history to life. For me it made Elizabeth come to life. And as far as I know, it was historically accurate! It also talked about Mary, Queen of Scots where she gave advice on how to avoid foolish errors that she made in her life.
Overall, Pioneer Library became a very useful tool to me as I became more familiar with it and will be a great asset for me as a teacher.

As promised...the video of the week!
Not that anyone notices but I did promise I would put this particular video up this week. The beginning is amazing! It actually sounds like Bella and Edward are talking. I hope my one loyal viewer will enjoy this video! Enjoy the video of the week!

What I learned this week? Websites!
This week we learned about UEN and Google websites. I definitely find these useful espeically as a teacher. I could use a website to give my students their assignments and to show parents what's going on in the class. It would definitely save on paper and allow students to be their "Digital Native" selves in my class.
Plus websites could help my students connect to me and perhaps think of me more as a person rather than just their teacher. It would allow me to get on their level and really interact with them as students.

The video of the week
This is the video that I'm addicted to this week. Now before all of you scream and holler about me betraying Team Edward let me explain. I LOVE Edward! But this video is very touching and includes that I think is important in New Moon and especially Eclipse. It's very sad that Jacob and Bella couldn't be together, but Edward is way awesome and I think Bella made the right choice. So no worries I'm still on Team Edward! Enjoy this week's video!

I learned about posting video, word, and excel!
This week in education class we learned about word and excel. I had some prior knowledge of both programs, but I learned that I can do a lot more with them that I have been. Excel would work really well for budgetting like we talked about in class. Or you could use it in a classroom to view the average test scores of students and put it in a graph and see if there are any trends. Perhaps it can help identify students who are struggling or concepts that perhaps students didn't understand.
I also was playing around on my blog and figure out how to post videos from youtube. This could be really useful to show students animations that may help them understand better. Or it could allow parents to see activities in class on the blog. So I thought that was really cool!

Facebook is so cool!
So in education class this week we learn about facebook and blogs. I really didn't want to get a facebook account after hearing about all the controversy with myspace. But I was somewhat forced into it. Now I realize the potential of these social networks in a classroom. You could directly communicate with students online and use their knowledge of technology to benefit the entire class. I could use facebook to keep in direct contact with students. I also could use blogger to allow students to comment on the lessons that I am teaching.
